L. H. Branson was one of the first western magicians to describe the methods of Indian conjurers and this is his first book under his own name, having dropped his nom de plume "Elbiquet".

In this remarkable book, he describes the traditional magic tricks of itinerant conjurers in India with many evocative photographic plates of third-generation magician Shah Mohommed performing. He also offers a £300 reward for anyone who can provide evidence of the Indian Rope Trick having been performed, hence the beautifully illustrated cover.
