This classic work of magic literature is a important part of any magician or magic historian's library. Written by the great French magician and "father of modern magic" Robert-Houdin this is a rare first edition of Professor Hoffmann's original translation.  
 
Condition: Good/fair. This has been rebound. It is ex-library with many stamps throughout, tipp-ex to the title page, and remnants of stickers to endpapers. The boards are rubbed with marks and a few knocks, pages have yellowed and have wear and occasional creases. A good reference copy of a rare original edition.
