Harry Leat was a controversial and influential magic dealer and publisher. This scarce book was written at the height of Leat's battle with The Magic Circle, hence the cover showing a skeleton beating a drum featuring the club's logo. Full of information about magic at the time, gossip and forthright opinions about his contemporaries and even a few magic tricks. This was owned by the famous magician and pioneer of TV magic Geoffrey Robinson and bears his bookplate.
Condition: Fair, worn with creases and tears to cover edges, cover split at top and bottom of spine, covers and pages have some yellowing, internal condition very good.
